Hi, I'm Gubo. I'm based in the Netherlands and drawing is something I've done my whole life, always in this same spooky, creepy style for as long as I can remember.

The fun part of my creations is that I don't actually decide what a Gubo looks like. I sit down, my hand starts moving and I watch it happen. Pretty much the same way you would if you were standing next to me.

Even deciding "today I'm going to draw a Gubo" doesn't guarantee one shows up. That part's up to them, not me.

Some days nothing comes. Other days something I never saw coming steps out from under the pencil, fully formed like it had been waiting there the whole time.

That's why every creature here feels like its own little being to me. Not a mascot, not a logo, just something that showed up one day and decided to stay. My hope is they become part of everyone's life the same way they've become part of mine.

Right now I'm focused on stickers. I believe stickers are one of the most universal things artists can make to spread their creations around. I am working with vinyl stickers you can stick anywhere: your laptop, a water bottle, a journal, wherever. Every Gubo sticker has a premium double thick backing, finished waterproof and tear resistant because if it's going to live with you it should actually last.

These days this is what I do full time just me, a pencil and whatever decides to show up next. There's more of them coming. I'm hoping the Gubo universe just keeps growing from here.
